Una Healy has recently had cause to be grateful to the caregivers at NHS for helping her little girl recuperate from her injured elbow.
She takes to social media to thank the hospital for their good graces.
Aoife Belle, 5, is the apple of her parents’ eyes. One can only imagine the pain and consternation her parents -singing sensation Una Healy and Ben Foden- might have been through when she shattered an elbow so badly that she had to undergo a surgical procedure to fix it.
Though, the episode was nerve-racking for her, Healy was impressed by the empathy and care her daughter received from the employees at NHS. She took to social media to thank the care givers, calling them amazing.
A hospital photo of little Aiofe -smiling post her surgery- has been doing the rounds on social media.
The 36-year-old mother-of-two has confessed that she does not wish to have any more kids.
She suffered from severe depression after the birth of her second child, a two-year old boy called Tadhg.
Though she had been okay after her firstborn, the time after her second delivery was very challenging for her.
What’s worse is that she did not confide in anyone regarding her troubles. Even her mother was not made privy to the matter.
Healy opines that the family’s state of affairs around that time were primarily the cause of her depressed state.
She was struggling with handling two children. Besides, they relocated around the same time and Foden had to be nursed right through a major surgery.
To top it all, she was racked by excruciating spinal soreness and had a mere six weeks to recover from childbirth before having to join work again.
The enormity of the challenges in her life took their toll on her health and she had to take medication to deal with her depression.
However, she feels the medicines didn’t help her at all. On the
contrary, they made matters worse by almost benumbing her sensibilities.
