The royal family of
England has banned plastics from the royal grounds, and requested the people to
refrain from using these plastics in their lives.
Queen Elizabeth has
recently prohibited the use of plastic bottles and straws from the royal
grounds after partnering with Sir Davis Attenborough. She also requested the
public to restrict the usage of plastics overall.
The Queen went on to promote conservation through the Commonwealth Canopy Initiative, which strives to make a network of conserving forests across several nations in the Commonwealth. The slow removal of straws, usage of bio-degradable containers and usage of paper cups that can be recycled were brought in since the proclamation made by the Queen.
The usage of these polymers anywhere inside the Royal Palaces and royal grounds are being gradually diminished and there seems to be a strong drive to address the issue of plastic usage as well. This is on in full swing, and seems to be having an effect on the public as well.
The Royal Household seem to have taken a
few bold steps to slash the use of plastics. Prince Charles, another
environment aficionado spoke about the deteriorating of ocean life and seas as
a whole due to the abundance of plastic use, and said the Earth was facing
“ecological and human disaster.”
Here’s the royal family taking a stance
to save our planet!
