The actor has made it clear that he is not open to playing the character even if another Fifty Shades book comes out.
Fans of the Fifty Shades series hoped that Jamie Dornan, who is adored by many as the handsome Christian Grey, would change his mind about his decision of not playing the character in possible future installments.
With the last movie of the franchise now in cinemas, people were
banking on sentiment to make the actor have a change of heart.
In a recent interview with UK entertainment show Lorraine, however, Jamie stood firm in his decision, explaining that he is the type of guy that gets over a role quickly, and is eager to be absorbed in the next one.
The 35-year-old also cited his age as a factor, saying he and co-star Dakota Johnson, who plays his love interest Anastasia Steele, is getting a bit too old for their roles.
When asked whether he'd reconsider reprising the part if ever EL James, the woman who penned the book series that the movies are based on, decided to add to the trilogy, the actor-slash-model-slash-musician pointed out that the author already did something similar by releasing rewrites of the first two books in Christian’s perspective.
But since it's the same
story, he said that he doesn't see the point in making new movies for them.
He also expressed his concerns about being known for only one character, and that he felt like he has done Fifty Shades for too long already.
With this, and in spite of the multitude of broken hearts he left with this decision, Jamie Dornan has confirmed that he really and truly is finished with playing Christian Grey.
