While raising children
with someone you love, each person has their own take- this is Eva Mendes,
speaking about her and Ryan Gosling’s kids.
Eva Mendes doesn’t give interviews very often. But recently, she spoke about her personal life, especially about her experiences while raising her children with Ryan Gosling, the love of her life. Both Gosling and she are on the same page, and strongly believe that their kids know about and appreciate their roots as well as the values of their cultures. The actress has two children with Ryan Gosling- a three-year-old daughter Esmeralda, and a one-year-old daughter, Amada.
The gorgeous actress, originally from Miami, spoke to People
Chica about her kids. Her elder daughter Esmeralda mostly speaks a mixture of
Spanish and English, which Eva dubs Spanglish. She finds her daughter adorable
and went on to state that Esmeralda was totally bilingual. She mentioned that
it was her and Gosling’s responsibility to ensure that their daughter knew not
only the Spanish language, but also about the culture, which was closely linked
However, Ryan and Eva’s kids are blessed, thanks to their
grand-mother living in the vicinity, at their family house in LA. According to
Eva, the lady is also a magnificent chef. She lives about fifteen minutes away
from Ryan and Eva. Eva also stated that the kids’ grandmother always speaks to
them in Spanish, and makes Cuban based cuisine for them, making it easy for the
kids to know about their culture.
Eva also said the kids along with her were almost always hearing Cuban music, which was a giant component of the way they lived. She also stated that she would not want to change anything. She also tries to make sure that her children and their grandfather get their quality time together as well.
Eva’s father is not bilingual and can’t speak English
despite having been in the country for forty years, and Eva says this is a good
thing. While trying to ensure that her children do speak Spanish, she believes
that dropping her kids in his presence will ensure that they speak only Spanish
with him and thus, improve their fluency in the language.
Even though Gosling is drastically outnumbered by ladies in
his and Eva’s house-hold, he doesn’t appear to be bothered by the fact even a
little. In fact, he’s called it heaven, and compared it to a daily walk through
a field of flowers. He went on to state that he lived with angels.
