Outraged woman says, that the photographer offensively edited an engagement
image, so the couple looked slimmer.
The future bride Katie Liepold was shocked when she discovered, that her engagement shots with John Kistler were edited by the photographer, so they looked slimmer.
Now Katie blames the photographer in fat-shaming.
The bride from Ohio, USA told, that she paid Linda Silvestri $600 for a
wedding package, which included the photo-shooting.
Everything went well – the photo-session was Ok, but when Katie and John got the photos, they noticed, that the photos were blurred, and that the photographer edited the photos so they looked slimmer.
“There was no need in engagement photo session, but it was included in the package, so we did it” – the bride said. She edited one photo, where she made us slimmer. Probably, almost 30 pounds from each of us were taken away.
Katie immediately contacted Linda and told that she was hurt by the fact
that her photos seemed not good enough to her.
According to the words of the bride, Linda offered to cancel this contract, with photo-session included, but insisted on keeping the deposit of $150. However, these were not all the surprises that the photographer prepared for the couple.
Soon, Katie found an offensive publication on Facebook, where Linda mentioned
them and told about her experience of working with the couple.
“Everyone is wondering, why I cut my photo business, - the photographer posted. – Last week I did an engaging photo with a couple, which suffer from pathological obesity… It’s very difficult to make… decent love photos, when two persons even cannot lean their heads together.”
Though the message was later removed, Katie still wants to return her deposit. She told that she had "no intention to pay $150 to become an object of ridicule”.
In turn, the photographer insists that she doesn’t have to return the deposit, because she spent more than two hours for that photo-session, while she apologized for fat-shaming.
Katy says that she has a
feeling that she was betrayed by that photographer and that she wants to share her
story with other brides as a warning.
