In 2016 British citizen Jackie Dibb was told she had only 7 years of her life left. Year later, when the woman used to this idea it turned out she wasn’t ill.
You never know what kind of doctor you’ll have next time, a skillful and attentive one or that one who doesn’t pay much attention to their work. And it’s quite terrifying because these people are responsible for our health and life. There were numerous cases when doctors prescribed incorrect treatment or even diagnosed their patients with wrong illnesses. That’s what happened with Jackie Dibb.
Back in 2016 British citizen Jackie Dibb during her medical examination heard diagnosis that made her shiver: frontotemporal dementia a disease that affects people’s behavior and memory.
That same day the patient was said she had maximum 7 years to live. That’s why Jackie decided not to waste her time and enjoy her life until the moment when she would have to leave this world behind. Her husband Rob left his work, they bought new fridge, portative shower and tentatively saying goodbye to her relatives, went to explore Turkey.
A year later, Jackie Dibb decided to undergo one more examination that revealed her previous diagnosis was wrong and in reality those signs that doctors viewed as beginning of dementia were just showing the start of woman’s depression.
The woman was outraged by doctors’ incompetence, filed a complained with National Health Service and even thought of going to court with her problem but then changed her mind. She realized that then solving of this situation will take at least 4 years of her life and more than $35 thousand out of their family budget.
