The male model, Leo Jonah, who has a rare genetic
condition of Albinism, tells his story on how he cope up with bullying and his
Leo Jonah, the 22-year old male model from London, who has an unusual condition that made his skin and hair all white, came out with his story to let the people know how he handled bullying as he was growing up.
Their family was the first black family with 3 Albino children which is, according to a study, quite unusual. He grew up picking a fight wherever he goes and he heard all kinds of harsh words from people all around him.
Saying, he tried so hard to fit in and just be normal but nothing worked. Leo’s life turned around when a modelling agency noticed his different looks and recruited him to be a model.
He had a successful
modelling career now where he appeared in numerous magazines like Vogue Russia
and Hunger. He also participated in fashion shows and showed up in several
Leo added that through his modelling and through social media, he wanted to reach out, inspire and help people with the same condition to learn to love and accept what they have and to let them realize that being different is okay.
One father whose son also has albinism, contacted Leo through his social media account asking him to help his son overcome shyness. Leo didn’t hesitate to help.
He is currently supporting the 7-year old boy who has Albinism. He takes the time to visit the kid as often as possible.
Leo even talked to the kid’s teachers in school to make them
understand how he is different and the extra care that he needs to overcome his
shyness and protect him from bullying.
