Abigail and Isobel were born in June 2011. By the way, these kids were born prematurely. The parents learned the shocking news a few weeks later. A doctor had taken them to some room and said the words that the mother would never forget. He said that their girls unfortunately suffered from Down syndrome. This news has shaken them to the core.
In an interview, Jody admitted that the doctor’s apology sounded like a life sentence at that moment.
At the time, the couple knew nothing about Down syndrome at all. After all, the chances of having twins with such a syndrome are really low. But who knew? How can anyone be ready for such situation?
They remained one-on-one with the issue. They were afraid and had lots of questions.
Will the girls be able to attend secondary school? Will they be able to study with their peers and maintain normal relations with them?
