On February 13, 2003, a girl named Kenadin
Jourdin-Bromleyes was born in Ontario, Canada.
She was so small that the nurses affectionately began to call her Thumbelina since at birth she weighed only 1.1 kg.
The doctors could see that it was not quite right with the small Kenadie at the time she was in the womb of her mother, and diagnosed primordial dwarfism, a genetic condition that affects approximately 100 people worldwide.
The beautiful and happy-looking girl, who is only 14 years old was diagnosed as unlikely to survive after birth, is pleased to have friends like any other girl.
In spite of the great difference with the other young people of her age, since the girl measures 99 centimeters, this is not an obstacle to enjoy and feel completely well.
Little Kenadie has a strange disease that has serious complications for brain development, digestive problems and also respiratory.
For this reason, the doctors didn`t give any hope of life, they didn`t see a future for her, assuming that she would only survive a few days or weeks with medical care.
To the medical diagnosis, the parents of the little thumbnail were totally destroyed, but at least they had hopes and the privilege of enjoying their baby for a couple of days, taking advantage of the opportunity that life offers them to take pleasure of their daughter`s birth and baptized her the same day.
In this regard, Kenadie's mother, Brianne, gave a statement to Barcroft TV, where she said: "We took her home even though we knew she was going to die," she says, "... that's what the doctors told us."
After time passing the little one never gave up, she clung to life bravely and against what the doctors had diagnosed her.
When her parents saw what was happening with the little Kenadie, they couldn`t hold back the joy, thanking God for that miracle.
Kenadie at her 14 years is a small young lady but full of life and happiness. Even though her legs and arms haven`t developed enough but it doesn`t stop her from having fun and enjoying the outdoors, life and learning new things.
Swimming, skating, and bowling are among her favorite hobbies. Kenadie attends school with her classmates, but, above all, she is an affectionate girl, who transmits joy, her happiness is contagious, and a charming smile.
"Kenadie makes me laugh. She’s very empathetic - if you hurt your finger, she comes and gives you a hug," her nanny Jessica Putman confesses. "She’s got an infectious laugh that just makes you want to laugh along with her," she says.
The girl still has appropriate medical treatment, which can`t be interrupted, because of her illness, the family has decided to live fully, so the little girl could enjoy her youth with moderation but always in a positive way: "My hope for the future for Kenadie is that she is happy and that she finds things that make her happy and makes her smile."
Always with the best disposition of life, being positive and overcoming all the difficulties experienced, this young girl is an example for everybody.
She shows us if you have the will to live, you cling and
have the courage to pursue your dreams, putting your soul into everything you
do. There is anything impossible and there are no barriers that stand in the
way of making our dreams come true and to pursue the happiness that we require
in our lives.
