Even though it’s true that some people often dress improperly to enter stores or other places, sometimes this can be taken as an excuse to denigrate other people, especially women.
1. Humiliated and discriminated
That was how Leannne Kennedy, a 30-year-old mother who was mistreated at "The Range" franchise store in the UK felt, only because she was wearing slightly lighter clothing than usual.
Maybe in some cases it is understandable that there are people who are not well dressed, but in her case, when you see her photos you realize that at no time was she dressed badly and that, on the contrary, everything was based on a personal opinion of the store employee.
2. A very hot day
That day she decided to wear more simple clothes, since the temperature was 24º C, something above the usual in the UK.
Leanne was wearing a top made of jean fabric along with black pants, something that in many countries is totally natural and appropriate, but apparently the local saleswoman did not see it that way.
3. After the humiliation
After the humiliation she had to spend with her nine-month-old baby, Leanne told her husband, who advised her to make a formal complaint with the company management.
4. Few sincere apologies
After the complaint, the company apologized to her and effectively acknowledged that it was a mistake of the employee, for having misinterpreted the internal rules of the store.
But despite the apologies, Leanne still seems untrustworthy and has decided that, at least in the near future will not return to that store.
Like her, hundreds of women are discriminated all over the world by their way of dressing, which is a real shame, for a world that calls itself advanced.
