One head for two: the kids that were born with one head have undergone a separation operation

The touching story of the twins named Jadon and Anias was in the world’s focus of attention.

The moment they were born they were conjoined at the back of the head so that doctors gave them very little hope of life.

They had to be transferred from Illinois to New York for surgery.

Even like that, it was not easy for them. After collecting enough funds and being ready for the procedure, Anias stopped breathing during the flight and he required urgent medical aid.

He was admitted to the hospital and there he was diagnosed with a severe viral illness that he has overcome fast.

The surgery lasted approximately 27 hours. Those were the longest 27 hours for the ones that were waiting for the outcome of the procedure. Luckily, everything went well.

The recovery was miraculous. The will of living that twins had was evident, and everybody was excited about the result. Finally, a few days later the boys were ready to leave the hospital.

It was an emotional farewell because all the hospital staff that was involved, reunited and followed them to the exit with rattles, little drums and banners. Everyone was prepared to celebrate the McDonald twins` medical discharge.

The parents and the twins` brother could hardly contain their joy. Together they escorted the twins who were lying in the stroller. The neighbor that helped the family with the fund-raising campaign was also there.

That was not the most touching thing that happened. The most adorable was the little boys´ gesture, both holding their hands like if they knew the enormous battle they fought. It was a tender moment for everyone.

The neurosurgeon and the plastic surgeon that treated them affirm that even though the kids still have to go through several treatments for rehabilitation the battle is almost won.

Everyone showed a sincere joy for the family and wish them the health and strength they need. People are sure that soon they will have a normal life.
