Just when she thought she had seen and done it all, Lisa began to lose her weight. At an early stage it didn’t bother her much, but soon she figured out that there was something terribly wrong with her health. She couldn’t eat food normally any more: she felt like vomiting after every meal and suffered from a severe stomachache.
Numerous medical examinations had no
result: she had spent a year in hospitals yet had no diagnosis made. She had
weighted less than 50 kg by the time one gastroenterologist diagnosed her as
having two arteries “cramp” the small intestine. Her bowels were found out to
be blocked from food getting through.
Lisa’s health improved temporarily after she had undergone a surgical treatment: now the food was bypassing her blocked intestine. Although she felt some disturbing pain she managed to eat regularly within a few months, and her husband Patrick took her to travelling.
Not long after her sickness came back and so the surgeons had to insert feeding tubes directly in her stomach. Later she started to receive an intravenous nourishing. The Browns still continued to go out to eat some food in cafes for Lisa to feel normal again.
Unfortunately her body didn’t stop shrinking and in 2015 she filmed her
story in a short video and uploaded it to YouTube. Lots of viewers felt empathy
to this brave woman and advised her medical institute known for studying that
very digestive system disorder.
Her weight had dropped to just 40 kg by the time Lisa found new physicians. They took a good care of her body: the woman even managed to gain 2 kilos. But despite this momentary success, Lisa had to undergo one more surgery again due to the inability of her stomach failed to absorb nutrients.
She had been struggling against the disease for 6 years with her mom
and husband being by her side. Lisa Brown faced an uphill battle and defeated
at the age of 34.
