The life of artists is different from what we see on the screen. We think that they live in an almost perfect way, that they fulfill all their desires and that they are the happiest people in the world. How far can we be from reality?
Barbara Eden is a beautiful woman who, since 1965, captivated the viewers by starring at the successful show I Dream Of Jeannie. It is difficult for those who have lived these years to not remember Jeannie, the genius of the extraordinary beauty that enchanted us with her ideas and mischiefs, always in love with her "master".
Several decades have passed since the end of the program, but Jeannie is
always remembered as one of the most beautiful faces of the screen. Barbara's
private life is not known by many. She had a son named Matthew Ansara, who was
the only one she had, but not because she didn't want more, but because fate
put her through two miscarriages.
As soon as they finished recording the series that pushed her to fame, she divorced her son's father and devoted herself to him. With that little one, her life was complete and she felt fulfilled. What she and no one imagined was that the boy would be induced to lead a life out of control.
The young man was lost, dipped in a life of alcohol, drugs and women. He did not mediate the consequences, he had no limits, these three things filled his life, and he did not want to get rid of them, what caused a great concern for his mother.
The boy, on some occasions, tried to abandon the bad life he leaded, at some moments he seemed to understand that he was slowly getting to the end of his days, but he returned to addiction again. In one of these relapses, Matthew, 35, was found dead inside his car. It was June 25th when the authorities recorded death because of heroin overdose. He was, till the time being, a handsome and strong man.
Next to his mother, Barbara, at her moments of happiness.
The wonderful actress never pictured she would go through the terrible
suffering of losing her only child. If she've experienced any other misfortune,
it was surely not compared to that. A disgrace that has marked her life
forever, the pain of a mother losing a child is not equal to anything.
